A fun and cozy launch of FIVE new books by THREE award-winning writers, with readings, a panel discussion, DOOR PRIZES and snacks.
From 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.: Robin Stevenson, Sara Cassidy, and I will launch Kid Activists, Ghost's Journey, Helen's Birds, Scallywag on the Salish Sea, and Little Juniper Makes It Big -- books about real-life activists, a too-small-but-just-perfect raccoon, a refugee cat, Salish Sea pirates, and friendship. For kids and their families. Readings suitable for all ages.
From 11 a.m. to noon, the three writers will talk and answer questions about writing for children.
Door prizes include a picture book manuscript consultation, a query letter consultation, and books.
Bastion Books is the event's generous host. Their bookshop, just off Bastion Square, on Commercial Alley, is the stuff of dreams.
The event is FREE. All are invited. Sponsors are Heritage House, Groundwood Books, Rebel Mountain Press, Raincoast Books and Quirk Books.
*The writers will be donating royalties from book sales to organizations that support LGBTQ+ refugees.
